Alfred Meyer (1891-1945)

From 1931 Meyer was Nazi party leader (Gauleiter) in the district of Westphalia-North. From 1933 he was also Reich Governor in Lippe and Schaumburg-Lippe. In 1941 Meyer was appointed State Secretary (second-in-command) in the newly formed Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories. In this capacity he participated in the Wannsee Conference in January 1942. Meyer committed suicide towards the end of the war.
