Artur Nebe (1894-1945)

SS-Gruppenführer (Lieutenant-General). Head of the Criminal Police (a part of the Reich Security Main Office, RSHA). From June-November 1941 Nebe was also head of Einsatzgruppe B in the Soviet Union and thus responsible for the murder of thousands of Soviet Jews. Towards the end of war Nebe was involved in an unsuccessful conspiracy against Hitler. He was executed for treason on 2 March 1945.
