Houston Stewart Chamberlain (1855-1927)

Race ideologist and a central figure in the development of modern anti-Semitism. Chamberlain, who was originally English, became a German citizen and settled in Bavaria. He married one of the daughters of Richard Wagner. The Nazis drew on Chamberlain’s anti-Semitic race ideology when formulating their ideas of freeing Germany (and mankind) from the Jewish race. Alfred Rosenberg’s ideological writings were based on the thoughts of Chamberlain, who himself saw Hitler as the man that could transform his ideas into realities.
