Martin Bormann (1900-1945)Member of NSDAP from 1927. From 1943 Hitler’s secretary and close collaborator. In this capacity Bormann gained enormous influence, particularly because he controlled access to the Fuehrer. According to Hitler’s will, Bormann was to be Party Minister. Following an unsuccessful attempt to escape Berlin, Bormann committed suicide on 2 May 1945. He was sentenced to death in absentia at the Nuremberg Tribunal. Back |
