Martin Luther (1895-1945)In 1938 employed in the Foreign Ministry as the protégé of Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. In 1940 head of the ministry’s German Department, in which capacity he participated in the Wannsee Conference in January 1942. At the conference Luther assured the other participants of the Foreign Ministry’s full cooperation in the extermination of the Jews. In 1943 Luther was arrested after having conspired against Ribbentrop and sent to the concentration camp Sachsenhausen. He died of illness in May 1945. Back |
